Maxxon Introduces Acousti-Mat LPR

January 26, 2009 - 2:20 PM

With fast, easy installation for every construction challenge, Acousti-Mat LP (Low Profile) offers ultimate flexibility, value and proven results.

Today's popular floor coverings such as tile and hardwood floors often present sound control challenges. Acousti-Mat LP or LPR (LP with Reinforcement) provides quality sound control with easy installation. With proven sound test results, Acousti-Mat LP or LPR can help achieve higher IIC ratings in your projects.

Acousti-Mat LP or LPR can be installed directly on the concrete or wood subfloor, or on top of a Maxxon Underlayment in concrete, wood or steel frame construction for additional sound control or where floor flatness is a concern. Floor goods such as floating wood, glue-down wood, or tile can be installed directly on top of the Acousti-Mat LP or LPR.

To achieve the popular "loft look" without scrificing sound control, look to Level-Right WearTop as a topping over Acousti-Mat LPR for the answer. Acousti-Mat LPR's entagled mesh offers the reinforcement necesssary for high-strength WearTop or other self-leveling underlayments.

   * The low profile solution for mixed use, single family, multifamily, mid-rise and high-rise construction or renovation.

   * Effective sound control in concrete, wood and steel frame construction.

   * Flexible installation--directly under floor goods, or covered with a Maxxon Underlayment for permanent sound control when floor goods are removed or changed.

   * Proven sound test results

   * Achieves a Delta IIC of 19--an approximate 75% reduction in impact noise on concrete floor systems.

November 3, 2008

Public Drawing Generator now available on Cornell's public Web site: www.cornelliron.com.

A new online Drawing Generator in now available at Cornell's Web site. Created primarily for the architectural community, this tool creates project specific drawings based on user-entered design criteria. A simplified version of the WebGen Drawing System, users of the public Drawing Generator enter opening width, height and other basic product characteristics and receive complete, project specific dimensioned drawings that are in PDF and DWG formats within minutes to a provided e-mail address.

Cornell is pleased to provide the design community with this service for accurate product information in a 24/7 Web application. The Drawing Generator gives architects and other Web site users another reason to utilize Cornell as their source for rolling door product information and specify Cornell early in the design process.

Because the drawings provided by the Drawing Generator are to provide general direction to architects and do not include all of the specific details required for approvals, you should continue to configure your projects accurately in the WebGen Drawing System.

New AIA Lunch and Learn Programs

October 3, 2008 - 9:02 AM

The Skold Companies have two new lunch and learn programs to offer architectural firms and general contractors. New in the fall of 2008 is the program called, "The Basics of Polished Concrete." This program is not approved for AIA credit at this time, but it does cover the basics of polished concrete including many of the pitfalls that can occur on a project. It provides an excellent over view of the process.

The second new program is called, "Motor Driven Acoustically Rated Interior Space Division." It is an appropriate way to say motorized upward acting operable walls. This program does come with one hour of AIA CEU credit. The program covers the differences of all motorized wall systems and also covers acoustical considerations when designing for space division using operable walls. Upward acting operable walls can also be used with stepped floors or sloping floors.

Here are some of the other programs we offer:

New Technology in Coiling Fire Doors, Wind Load Technology for Coiling Doors, Acoustical Floor and Ceiling Assemblies, Cementitous Wood Fiber Products, Operable Walls in Your Project, The Skold Companies-an overview of what we do.

Call or e-mail us if you are interested in either of the two new programs or any of the other programs we have to offer.
